"I'm really pleased to have represented my country that many times but it will be quite sour if we don't win because the sole objective of being here is reaching the European championships," he told reporters at Scotlands training camp.
"There's a real mood of optimism and the squad is very settled. I'll be devastated if we don't qualify as the whole point of being in a play-off is to give you a chance to get there."
