Rumours have been rife that, following this weeks signing of Marlon Harewood from Nottingham Forest, Pardew would be listening to offers for the England Under 21 international with both Arsenal and Manchester Utd said to be interested in the Hammers forward.
"The speculation was always going to happen but it's not true. Marlon's been brought in to add something down our right," said Pardew.
"It's quite mouthwatering to have him, Defoe and David Connolly in the same team.
"I've been assured by the board I don't have to sell Jermain and I can only go by that."
