Pardew slams “Brown Out” protest

After vocally supporting AP and the team 100% throughout the whole 90 minutes the fans then turned their attention to Brown and the board.

Huge “Brown Out” banners were displayed and chants of “We want Brown Out”, “Sack the Board” and “There’s only one Tony Cottee” rang out around 3 sides of the Boleyn ground.

On orders of club officials, match-day Stewards and Police both entered the crowds confiscating flags and banners whilst the clubs DJ attempted to drown the noise by blasting out songs on the public address system.

This only infuriated the already fed up fans even more and caused the protest to continue for over 45 minutes.

In his post match comments a frustrated Pardew then criticised the fans for the protest.

We ended up winning 3-0 and we have a protest after the game - it's not what we want," Pardew said.

“I am all about having a positive attitude, but at times it is very difficult to achieve at this club.”
