Pardew: We need more bodies

The new West Ham boss as seen a sudden dip in form since he took over the managers post at Upton Park last month with the Hammers still waiting for their first win under his leadership.

"We are not a million miles away and I do believe we can get in the play-offs with this team but to win automatic promotion we need more bodies," he said after the 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road.

"Naturally we are concerned that we are drifting but I don't think we've had the breaks.

"We lost Matthew Etherington yesterday and we still have Rob Lee out and Jermain Defoe out through suspension.

"We didn't have a natural wide player. We had to cobble together a team and we dug in and showed a lot of character"
