3 Wins in a row

A single first half strike from Marlon Harewood was enough to bring all three points back to East London and to move the Hammers into forth spot in the Championship.

On a cold, snowy night at the Priestfield Stadium Marlon Harewood knocked in a Matthew Etherington cross in the 13th minute to give the West Ham an early lead. Gillingham pressed well in the first half, but the second half substitution of Teddy Sheringham, on for the injured Etherington, gave a touch of quality to the Hammers play in the attacking area of the pitch.

West Ham had chances in the second half and a solid display at the back by Powell, Ferdinand, Mackay and Repka was enough to see out the 90 minutes.

With three wins on the trot and fans will now be wondering – can we really get promotion this year?

Vote now in the hammersmad poll.
