4 Premier League Clubs Join Race to Sign Bournemouth's David Brooks

A host of Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth winger David Brooks, with the Cherries players expected to easy pickings for top-flight clubs following their relegation to the Championship.

Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all said to be considering a move for Brooks. The 23-year-old winger spent much of last season out with an ankle injury, but did enjoy an impressive debut season at Dean Court - scoring seven goals in 30 Premier League appearances.

Brooks had an excellent debut season for Bournemouth, but missed most of last season with an ankle problem

According to Sky Sports, Brooks is unlikely to remain with Bournemouth next season as they prepare for life in the second-tier, putting Premier League clubs on alert.

He originally joined the Cherries from Sheffield United in 2018 for a fee of £11.5m, despite only having one year of experience in the Championship and none in the Premier League. The move paid dividends, however, as Brooks quickly became one of Bournemouth's most crucial players, earning a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award in his debut season.

Brooks suffered an ankle injury just before the start of last season and spent nearly eight months out, before returning for the restart in June. He made nine appearances, scoring a solitary goal, but was unable to keep Bournemouth up.

Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson could leave the club too

Brooks isn't the only Bournemouth player that could be on the way out. The same Sky Sports article links Callum Wilson with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Newcastle United, despite the striker's woes in front of goal last season.

It has also been reported that the Cherries have accepted a £41m bid from Manchester City for Nathan Ake, as Pep Guardiola looks to bolster his defence ahead of next season.
