Bolton Match Preview Part 2

Moncur: The last time?
Glenn Roeder faces some selection dilemnas of a different kind for today's match, with some sentimental decisions to be made as well as tactical.

With Bolton having nothing to play for, inasmuch as they are now safe from relegation, West Ham have the greater urgency for victory in order that the team can finish above Tottenham - although a win for the Hammers requires anything less than a win for Tottenham if the boys are to finish seventh.

With John Moncur, Shaka Hislop, Nigel Winterburn and Steve Potts almost certainly leaving at the end of the season, many fans will be hoping to see them partake in at least some of the match. Shaka will have to settle for the bench - which is probably where he will stay, as David James will be celebrating his England squad inclusion. Steve Potts will be hoping to get onto the pitch not only to properly say goodbye to the fans, but also to notch up his 400th league appearance in claret and blue.

The team will probably line up with James in goal, with Ian Pearce as right back, Tomas Repka, Christian Dailly and Nigel Winterburn as left back.

England's number 19, Joe Cole, will be in the centre of midfield with Michael Carrick and Trevor Sinclair on the left. It is likely that Glenn will pick Steve Lomas to partner him, although he might decide on John Moncur instead - for his last appearance. However, with John Moncur's warm up antics a great crowd pleaser - he might have to settle for a place on the bench.

In Paolo di Canio's absence, Jermain Defoe will partner Fredi Kanoute up front. The bench will probably consist of Shaka, Steve Potts, John Moncur, Richard Garcia and Vladimir Labant.

The other players in the squad are Sven Andersson (who is also leaving in the summer), Laurent Courtois, Izzy Iriekpen and Glenn Johnson.
