Bowyer in talks at Upton Park

Bowyer to West Ham?
Whatever you think of Lee Bowyer as a person, he is a hard hitting midfielder, who could prove to be the catalyst that West Ham needs to get them out of trouble.

He is an England rated midfielder, and has only not been in the team due to his indiscretions off the pitch. Glenn Roeder and Paul Aldridge have now agreed a fee with Leeds for the player, and they are currently in talks with the 26 year old.

"We have agreed terms in principle with Leeds and are expecting the player down some time today," says Paul Aldridge. "We need to sit and talk with Lee and hopefully we will then be in a position to take it further, tie up the loose ends and thrash out a contract as soon as possible."

Glenn added: "He is a fantastic midfield player and has got the best years of his career in front of him."
