Last updated : 09 June 2005 By Plymouth_hammer

After a tense match with few real chances, England were knocked out by France. The match finished 0-0 but France went through on penalties, with James Milner being the only player to miss. England now play Mexico in the third place play off on Friday 10 June.

In the earlier games both Ferdinand and Reo-Coker played in two games losing 1-0 to Portugal and beating South Korea 3-0, with Reo-Coker scoring the third goal. Englands other game in the tournament was a 2-0 win against Tunisia.

West Ham youngsters Moses Ashikodi and Kyel Reid are also involved in England games this week, having been picked for the Under 18 squad due to play Norway on Friday 10 June at Port Vale.

If Moses does play then it will be his first international appearance since joining from Millwall last August.

With four of West Ham's youngsters in England squads this week, the future is looking bright.
