The 25-year-old Bordeaux striker had been targeted by Gianfranco Zola who is frantically looking to resolve the Hammers’ lack of options up-front.
Speaking to France 3 Aquitaine Chamakh said, “From a sporting point of view, I prefer to stay at Bordeaux than go to West Ham.”
“Instead of joining another Premier League club, I'm going to opt for the very interesting year which Bordeaux is proposing on a sporting level.”
Zola will now look for other options, but with the transfer deadline looming large, he is finding it increasingly difficult to secure his main transfer targets.
