Hammers midfielder Hayden Mullins and Brighton defender Adam Virgo were both sent off during the game. Following this, several players from both sides confronted each other with lots of pushing and shoving ensuing.

A statement on the FA’s website yesterday said, “At a disciplinary commission hearing yesterday, West Ham United FC and Brighton & Hove Albion FC were each fined £10,000 and warned as to their future conduct”.

In other news, it has been reported today that West Ham have rejected a bid for England U-21 international Nigel Reo-Coker. Another bid, believed to be around £1 million, for striker Marlon Harewood has also been rejected.

Out-of-form, Booby Zamora looks set for a switch to Premiership strugglers Norwich with Nigel Worthington believing that with the right kind of service Zamora could reach his undoubted potential.
