Curbs pleased with the points

A superb header from Dean Ashton and a rare Anton Ferdinand goal saw a resilient Hammers side recover from a slow start, falling behind after 8 minutes to a Simon Davies free-kick.

Curbs told Sky Sports, "We started so badly, we looked lethargic and it didn't quite happen for us.

"We then conceded a soft goal and had to claw ourselves back into the game. We did that, but it was a tough afternoon.

"We got stronger as the game went on; got our goals, but it doesn't matter who you play in the Premier League you have to go for 90 minutes.

"There are no 'gimmes' in this division and today was a tough game, an important game.

"I thought we created the best and the most clear cut chances though and deserved to win."
