The 25-year-old defender is eager to get some first-team football under his belt after being frozen out by Alan Curbishley after recovering from a hernia operation.

Speaking on Watford's official site Calum said he was looking forward to working with Hornets manager Aidy Boothroyd. "I know Aidy Boothroyd has looked at signing me before when I was at Tottenham, but Martin Jol wouldn't let me leave. I've just met with the manager and he seems really positive and motivated.

Davenport
could make his debut in Sky Sports' Live match against Charlton tomorrow.

"I've only played one reserve game so I'm just itching to get back out there and tomorrow is a great game for me to be involved in hopefully. I just want to play football because it's been so long now."
