David Moyes Keen to Make 3 More Signings During January Transfer Window

David Moyes is targeting a further three signings for West Ham in the January transfer window, after completing a deal to bring Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph back to East London.

Moyes returned to the London Stadium in December for his second spell in charge of the Hammers, and the Scotsman made it clear that the squad needs some fresh faces to help them pull away from the relegation dogfight.

Football.London reports that the ex-Everton coach wants another three players to bolster his side, including a new midfielder, a striker and a right-back before the transfer window closes at the end of January.

West Ham have made a move to bring in Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley on loan, who has fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard this season, but their approach was rebuffed by the Blues.

The Irons also made an attempt to sign Benfica star Gedson Fernandes, but the Portuguese midfielder instead chose to join London rivals Tottenham Hotspur

The centre of midfield is clearly an area which Moyes is desperate to strengthen, and with rumours swirling regarding the future of starlet Declan Rice and a possible move to Manchester United, West Ham are pushing to bring in cover in the event of his departure.

Speaking about the future of Rice, Moyes admitted that West Ham 'don't want to lose the midfielder', and would rather 'add more of him to the club.'

Declan Rice

"Dec's got a great career ahead of him. He's improved since I was (last) here. He's shown real talent and I think in many ways he's doing an awful lot for the team.

"It's up to us to show we can add to that. I want more Declan Rices in truth. I don't want to lose him, I want to add more of him to the club."

Despite their desire to bolster the squad, the Hammers are no closer to concluding any transfer deals, and with the days passing by rapidly, Moyes must act quickly to pad out his struggling side.
