Defender wanted after Anton Loss

England U-21 international Anton has been in impressive form recently and his loss will come as a big blow to a defence that before the Leeds game had only conceded 2 goals in its last 5 games.

Pardew said to the official website “Losing Anton is a big blow and our defence conceded its first goal in three League games at Leeds.

“Anton’s absence will leave a gap and we’ll hopefully look at bringing someone in to strengthen the squad this week.”
