Ferdinand injury blow

The former England striker was stretchered from the field ten minutes into the second half of the game with Manchester City with a suspected broked leg after a collision with City keeper Peter Schmeichel.

Ferdinand was taken to hospital for x-rays and TrevorBrooking said: "He's a tough cookie.

"But until he gets back we'll have to wait and keep our fingers crossed."
