Glenn: Good Performance

Glenn Roeder is naturally pleased that West Ham got all the points today, and was pleased with the teamwork that the lads showed. He was especially pleased with the defence today, with Fulham's speed of attack not causing many problems for James and co.

"We've been beaten away ten times this season which is not good. But we were much more dogged today and did what we had to do.

"Our full-backs are keen to get forwards, but I decided now was the time we needed to stay together as a back four and keep it tight - as we've got more than enough creative players to nick a couple of goals.

"Apart from Fulham's early chance, their pacy strikers didn't get behind us. It was a good, professional performance."

Glenn commented on Paolo di Canio's ill-tempered reaction to his subsititution in his normal succinct fashion: "The press will make of it what they want to. I don't have to go into great detail: End of story."

Following Validimir Labant's exit from the match in some pain after little more than 20 minutes of the first played, Glenn said:

"He's got a back injury of some sort - but how serious it is, I don't know. We're taking him for X-rays and maybe even a scan. He's in a lot of discomfort, but Nigel Winterburn will be fine for Saturday's game, at home to Charlton, if needed."
