Sincs: Versatile
With another three points in the bag, Glenn certainly seemed pleased with the lads today, and Trevor Sinclair - partnering Jermain Defoe in attack in Fredi Kanoute's absence - was singled out for particular recognition.

"We saw today the importance of Trevor Sinclair to a club like ours which operates on a small squad. You need versatile players and Trevor has played wide right, wide left, and in central midfield with Joe this season.

"With Freddie out I asked him yesterday if it would be a problem for him to play up through the middle, and his attitude was fantastic. I have really enjoyed working with him this year, as I have all the players."

And he also mentioned Joe Cole's performance, which was of particular note today, but reiterated that all is not lost if the youngster misses out on a trip to the World Cup.

"Joe Cole also didn't do his chances of going to the World Cup any harm, although I shall say again that it will not be the end of the world if he doesn't go, because he has another three World Cups ahead of him in his career.

"There is a lovely environment at our training ground now, which the players enjoy, and there is a great team spirit. You can see that in the manner in which they play the game."
