Gold talks up move

The Olympic committee and have constantly insisted that the Stadium must keep an athletics track after the games in order to leave a “lasting legacy” however this insistence would prove a major obstacle if the Hammers were to move into the ground situated less than a few miles from their current at Upton Park.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live Gold said, “I’m sensing an easing of the stance that it should be a legacy to athletics," said the Hammers co-owner.

"We have to be more pragmatic.  Do we want to have a stadium like we have at Crystal Palace which just deteriorated and rotted away because it wasn't sustainable?”
