Defeat against Arsenal at the weekend leaves the Hammers propping up the table, but Grant is confident that they can turn things around.
"The difference to winning is not a big difference, it is a combination of the mental things and good things," he said.
"If after two months, all the performances were very bad, it would be worse, but if we can take the performance together with the points it would be good. Against Arsenal away is not easy, but the next game is more important.
"I am sure that we can do it, I am very positive about this year. I saw that we had a good performance, we played well, we have fighting spirit. At the end of the day, it will come."
