Grant joined the club as first team coach in December 2003 and his promotion to Assistant manager comes along with an improved 4-year contract.

He told the official site, “I'm delighted, of course. It has been a fantastic week for the Club and, for me personally, this is obviously a fantastic honour.

”Alan gave me the opportunity to come and work here soon after he arrived at the Club, and it was a dream to have the chance to work with a club like West Ham United.

”It's been a long hard road since then, but we've come through it, and the biggest factor for me was the strength that the manager showed last year. He made it clear that he wanted to take this Club forward and he has got his just rewards this season.

”I just want to be a part of that and, as I said, getting the opportunity to sign again is fantastic and I'm very proud of that.”
