Hammers beat Spurs….. Again!

The Hammers came away with their third victory of the season over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.  An own goal from Harry Kane and a Stewart Downing strike were enough to beat an out of sorts Spurs.

Tottenham found themselves down to 10 men on 24 minutes when Younes Kaboul brought down Stewart Downing as the winger broke down the right.  Kaboul was adjudged to have been the last man and referre Phil Dowd has no hesitation in sending him off.

The Hammers then found themselves in the lead when Mark Noble’s corner picked out Andy Carroll.  Carroll’s header back across goal hid the head of Kane and left Lloris helpless in the Spurs goal.

The Hammers made it two just before half time when Stewart Downing hit his first goal for the club after a fine run and shot.

Spurs tried to hit back in the second half and had plenty of possession.  Adebayor and Soldado were particularly wasteful in attack and in the end Spurs never really threatened to overturn the 2-0 deficit.
