Hammers beaten by Bale

The Welshman was in fine form as he opened the scoring for the away side and then hit a stunning winner late on in the game.

In between Bale’s opener and his winner, Andy Carroll equalised for the Hammers from the spot after a foul by former Hammers skipper Scott Parker.  Joe Cole then put the Hammers into a 2-1 lead just before the hour, but Spurs’ substitute Gylfi Sigurdsson levelled the match on 76 minutes.

It was then left for Bale to hit a thunderous drive into the top right-hand corner of the net from 25-yards to break the hearts of the home fans.
