Hammers down Hoops

The Hammers took the lead after only five minutes as Needham Onouah diverted Stewart Downing’s cross past the hapless Robert Green.  From then on, the Hammers bossed the game and despite there being few clear cut chances they would have been disappointed going into the interval with only a single goal advantage.

Rangers started brightly after the break and we’re beginning to get a foot into the break when the Hammers hit them with a sucker punch.  Diafra Sakho nodded home from only a yard out to make it five goals in as many games for the Senegalese striker.

With a two goal cushion the Hammers looked in complete control of the game and ran out easy 2-0 victors.
