Hammers Go Acapulco

The Hammers have completed the signing of Mexico international striker Guillermo Franco on a 1 year deal after his release from La Liga outfit Villarreal.

The 32-year-old  Mexican was a free agent following the expiry of his contract with the Spanish side and had been linked with a move to various European and Premier League Clubs.

Hammers manager Gianfranco Zola has been anxious to bolster his attacking options due to Dean Ashton's long term injury and cover for Hammers England International, Carlton Cole.
Franco follows Luis Jiminez, Alessandro Diamanti and Frank Nouble in moving to Upton Park this summer.

If he plays , he will become the first Mexican International to represent the Hammers.

We wish him and all our signings success this season.
