West Ham were held to a 1-1 draw at St Andrews by Birmingham in the Boxing day encounter.

Another early goal for the Hammers was not enough for them to continue their excellent away run against an inspired resilient Birmingham side.

Carlton Cole took advantage of a mistake by Pablo Ibanez after only 4 minutes to put the Hammers in front.  The Hammers took the game to the Blues but could not secure a second goal to kill the game off. 

On 81 minutes Chris Burke crossed in a corner for David Murphy to secure a deserved point for Birmingham just when the Hammers looked like clinging on for victory.
