Hammers hit by Carroll injury

The striker was influential for an hour on his debut as the Hammers thrashed Fulham 3-0

Carroll looks set to miss anything up to six-weeks if a hamstring injury is confirmed.

Following the game Allardyce said of Carroll’s chance of making the England squad for their opening World Cup qualifiers, “I don’t think he’s much chance - sadly for Roy and sadly for us.  It depends on the extent of the damage.

“He is desperate to play football.  We had Carlton Cole warmed up and ready to go and Andy was going to be substituted anyway in the next couple of minutes. But unusually he did it on the jump.”
