Big Sam rung the changes in the starting line-up after Saturday’s victory over Fulham with Ravel Morrison and Carlton Cole both earning starts.

In a frustrating first half, neither side were able to take their chances until Chamakh glanced home a header from Barry Bannan’s cross to put the Eagles into the lead in new boss Tony Pulis’ first game in charge.

Both teams had chances in the second half but the Hammers always looked second best against an inspired Palace side.  The Eagles were able to hold out easily for a victory which seriously boosts their hopes of climbing out of the Premier League relegation spots.
