Hammers OS deal collapses

The decision to end negotiations is believed to have been caused by the delays to the process because of Tottenham and Leyton Orient’s legal challenge to the original decision to award the stadium to the Hammers.

The OPLC, government and the Mayor of London are now insisting the stadium will remain in the public ownership, although there will be a new tender process to find an anchor tenant who will rent the stadium on an annual basis.

West Ham have still to comment officially however it is understood that they will renew their bid to become tenants once they have had time to digest the latest twist in this long running saga.
