Carew, 31 and 6”5’ tall, will bring some much needed experience and power to the front line.
Carew did not complete his move in time to be available for the first game of the new season against Cardiff but he should be ready to challenge for a place in the first-team soon.
Speaking to the official site on his arrival, the big Norwegian said, “I am so pleased to be here. I am very happy to sign for such a big club. I am looking forward to being part of a good team here that will bring this great club back up to the Premier League again.”
Carew has previously made 133 appearances for Aston Villa, scoring 54 times, before a short loan spell to Stoke City at the end of last season.
