Pressing the Champions and not allowing them to play their free flowing football the Hammers has success picking them off on the counter attack.

The Hammers opening the scoring on 21 minutes when Morgan Amalfitano stabbed home from 2 yards out following some excellent work by Enner Valencia to reach Alex Song’s through-ball.

The Hammers comfortably saw the game to the interval and looked much the better side.

As the second half went on City were looking dangerous.  Both Aguero and Silva unfortunate not to level for the visitors.  The stadium was then stunned when Sakho headed home the Hammers second after 75 minutes.

David Silva hit back almost immediately with a fine solo effort but the Hammers defended resolutely as the Champions threw the kitchen sink at them in the last 10 minutes to secure a deserved victory.
