Hammers win final pre-season game

With a week to go before the opening fixture of the Barclays Premier League at home to Cardiff City they will have been pleased to come away with a decent victory over a strong Portuguese side that have qualified for the Champions League.

The game started with a bang.  After only 16 seconds, Ravel Morrision continued his fine pre-season form with by slotting past the keeper after Joe Cole had produced an inch perfect pass to find him in the area.

The Hammers looked bright and were rewarded again just before half-time as Modibo Maiga calmly converted past the goalkeeper for his third goal of pre-season to put the Hammers 2-0 up at half-time.

Five minutes after the break and Pacos were back in it.  James Collins unfortunately deflecting a long range effort from Manuel Jose past Jussi Jaaskelainen.  The Hammers continued to dominate the game throughout the second half and were unlucky not add more goals to their tally as they ran out clear winners in their final test of pre-season.
