Hammers Youth in thrilling victory

A 3-2 victory over neighbours Leyton Orient was enough to see them through to the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup, where they will play a high-flying Southampton side.

The young Hammers could not have got off to a worse start, when Jason Demetriou hit a 30-yard free kick that deflected of the wall and into the corner of the net. They didn’t let that faze them though and came out fighting at the re-start.

Moses Ashikodi and Hogan Ephraim both netting a goal each to put the Hammers 2-1 up and then late on in the first half Tony Stokes poked in a rebound from an Ashikodi shot to make the score 3-1 at half time.

Ten minutes into the second half, the Hammers conceded a penalty that was calmly tucked away by Jason Demetriou for his second goal of the night.

Both teams then, had great chances to score more goals, but it was the Hammers who held out for a well-deserved 3-2 victory.
