How has Kevin Nolan never had an England cap

Zaha is young and has been tearing up the Championship but has never played a Premier league game. His inclusion makes a lot more sense than Leon Osman however. His form for Everton has been superb but at 31 is there any sense in the call up as he won?t be in the reckoning for the 2014 world cup as he is behind a whole host of midfielders and will be 33.

Leon Osman will not want the accolade but could well end up on the list of one-cap-wonders.

Jay Bothroyd, David Nugent, Joey Barton, Michael Ricketts, Francis Jeffers, Kevin Davies, Lee Bowyer, Anthony Gardner and many more.

It begs the question, how has Kevin Nolan never made an England squad for a novelty cap at the least? He has played fourteen seasons in English football and ten of those seasons in the top flight, captained all three sides he?s played for and scored 97 goals from midfield. Nolan who is a year younger than Osman has also netted four league goals in just eight appearances this season and is a player who I?d much rather see in an England jersey.

Scott Parker?s first call up was way back in 2003 and has only gone on to manage 17 caps for the national team whereas Tom Cleverley has made five appearances this year which shows the drop in quality and ease to make an England squad.
