Hutchison put in a man of the match performance against promotion rivals QPR on Saturday but was due to go out on loan in the near future.

Don said, when talking to the official site today, “I had a couple of chats with the Leeds manager, Kevin Blackwell, and it looked a real possibility but then Sergei Rebrov got injured and I didn't go.

“There was also talk of a permanent move to Nottingham Forest but that never really got close to happening.

“I definitely would like to stay here if I could. This is my second spell at the club and the fans have been great.”

West Ham manager Alan Pardew was full of praise for the 33-year old Hutchison. He said, “Harewood and (Bobby) Zamora had been looking a bit flat, so I decided to bring in Hutchison, and I thought he was terrific. He did himself no harm; I thought he looked really clever.”
