Ilunga has lost his place in the first-team following the arrival of George McCartney.
Ilunga last played for the Hammers in August in their defeat to Aldershot Town in the first round of the Carling Cup.
It is believed the Hammers retain an option to recall Ilunga at short notice should the need arise.
