Malky Mackay Leaves

Malky made 22 appearances for the Hammers last season after joining the club from Norwich City in September 2004, however the arrival of Danny Gabbidon and James Collins from Cardiff have seen him drop well down the defensive pecking order.

He told the official site, “I’m sorry to be leaving West Ham. It’s a terrific Club and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

“But at this stage of my career I need to be playing football on a regular basis and to do that I feel that it is the right time to move on.

“I’d like to wish everyone at West Ham United success for this season and beyond.”
