McCartney has been on-loan from Sunderland last season after playing for the club for two seasons from 2006-2008.
“This is probably the very top of my football career,” George told West Ham TV. “There was a lot on the game and this is right up there with the best days in my life, apart from my kids being born!
“It’s tremendous and a once-in-a-lifetime moment in your football career.”
“I think Blackpool improved from when we beat them both times during the season. Both teams had plenty of chances but thankfully we scored the winner and we’re going to the Premier League.
“The lads have worked hard this season. Everyone wants to be in the top division playing against the best teams and the best players, so here we come Premier League!”
