Allardyce has secured the Hammers’ Premier League status with ease this season and looks likely to earn them a place in the top half of the table. They look certain to finish up the highest of the three promoted sides following their play-off final victory.
"At the beginning of the season, publicly we were saying that survival would be the key but privately we were targeting the top ten," said McDonald. "We broke the season down into small goals and we've been reaching those goals the majority of times. If we set a target for top ten and we achieve that then I don't see why Sam shouldn't be considered for manager of the season."
