Midfielder reveals Hammers snub

The Hammers tried to sign the Aston Villa man on a two month loan deal but he turned down the chance of a move to Upton Park preferring instead to stay with the Midland's side and try to fight his way back into their first team squad.
"It would have taken me up to the start of the transfer window but I would have only played a few games and then I'd be back and what was the point of that?," he told the icBirmingham website.
"If it had been longer, I'd have thought about it but I know I am good enough to play for Villa."
