The battling midfielder has been rewarded for his outstanding form since West Ham's arrival in the Premiership last year.

Hayden was Pardew's first signing from Crystal Palace back in 2003 and he has since made 135 league appearances for the Hammers.

After missing the Hammers' penalty shoot-out defeat to Liverpool the FA Cup final last season and seeing Argentine midfidler Javier Mascherano arrive at Upton Park in the summer Mullins has continued to show commitment and desire and has been one of the Hammers' most consistent players once again this year.

News of Mullins' new deal will only add weight to the rumours that Mascherano and striker Carlos Tevez may leave the club in the January transfer window.
