Eggert Magnusson, Head of the Icelandic FA and a UEFA committee member, values the club at £75 million and look set to make a formal offer for the club once his team of advisors have had a chance to go through the Hammers' accounts.
The statement reads:
Eggert Magnusson notes the recent press comment regarding the possibility that he will, under Rule 2.5 of the City Code on Takeover and Mergers (the "Code"), make an announcement of a firm intention to make an offer for West Ham ("Offer").
Mr Magnusson confirms that he and his advisors have engaged in initial
discussions with the Company and its advisors in respect of a possible Offer, although there can be no certainty that such discussions will lead to an Offer, nor of the price of any such Offer.
