Man of the match Noble was superb on the ball all night after returning to Stuart Pearce's starting line up after missing the Montenegro game on Friday. He opened the scoring after only 10 minutes with a beautiful lofted chip over the goalkeeper and then doubled England's lead 7 minutes later finding himself unmarked to drill home a cross from the right. James Milner scored the other goal.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game Nobes declared himself disappointed. "I should have had a hat-trick," he added after an late effort was brilliantly blocked.

"I am disappointed with myself with two. I should have scored a third. It was a great tackle from the lad but two is good enough for me."
