O'Brien secures point

Stoke had taken the lead after only 13 minutes with a goal from John Walters straight from the training ground.

They then dominated for large spells of the first half and went in to the break fully deserving of their lead following a lack-lustre first-half for the Hammers.

The second-half started much better and it only took three minutes for Joey O’Brien to convert from 10 yards following a low cross from Gary O’Neil.

Both teams then had chances to secure all three points but will both have been happy to come away with a share of the spoils.
