Pardew Praise For Striker

The veteran striker scored the last gasp goal at the JJB Stadium to earn the Hammers a share of the spoils and ended Wigans hopes of a place in the Division One play-offs.

"I want to pay tribute to Brian Deane, his professionalism," Pardew said after the 1-1 draw.

"He hasn't been involved for a number of weeks and when he has been on the bench he hasn't got on.

"But he has been very diligent and who knows how important that goal could be.

"The 1-0 result was okay for us but we had to be fair for everyone else. We had three strikers and we went for the win. We drove ourselves on and got the equaliser. Unfortunately for them it cost them."
