After a poor display on the pitch in which Tomas Repka was sent off for what appeared to be a headbutt on Preston midfielder Brian O’Neil, players from both sides were allegedly involved in a brawl inside the tunnel.
Pardew said, “The police asked if I had seen anything, but I was in the changing room.
“They asked if there had been a problem in the tunnel, and I said: 'Not as far as I am aware'.”
“I understand there was some pushing and shoving, but no more than that.”
