Pardew rues missed chances

A Bobby Zamora extra-time goal knocked the Hammers out of the competition at White Hart Lane but Pardew felt that had West Ham taken their chances they'd have been in the hat for the fourth round draw.

"We have struggled to score goals, not just recently, but from the start of the season.

"It seems that if Jermain Defoe doesn't score then we don't score and he is struggling to get one, but most of the chances fell to him.

"We are a bit aggrieved that we haven't won the game because we put in a lot of effort, but came out with nothing.

"We worked hard, showed great discipline and you cannot fault the effort, we have a young team with a lot of spirit."
