London rivals Arsenal (2-3), bottom club Sunderland (2-0) and Steve Bruce’s Birmingham City (3-0) as well as a goalless draw at Bolton in the FA Cup.

Pardew himself paid tribute to the work of other around him, saying: “This is an award for the tremendous work that the team, squad and staff have put in - not just last month but throughout the season.

”We thank Barclays and it is an honour for the whole Club. I believe we have the best backroom staff in the country and this award is a reflection of that.”
