Pardew celebrated wildly when striker Marlon Harewood scored the 89th minute winner for the Hammers yesterday. This appeared to spark to tussle between the two managers as the Frenchman took offence to Pards' understandable joy.

“We have been under a lot of pressure and I was celebrating the goal basically, that's all I was doing.

“Arsene had a problem with that, probably rightly, but I was under a lot of frustration, after seeing us lose and then to see us win today.

“It was nothing personal, nothing like that. I'll apologise to him if I offended him but I was just celebrating the goal. There was nothing said.

“I think he was angry about a couple of the decisions that perhaps didn't go their way, and the way we approached the game.

“We were physical because we wanted to upset Arsenal and win the game. I was just celebrating the goal, nothing more, nothing less.

“I apologise to him, I apologise to Arsenal, but it was West Ham's day today, we got the three points and we thoroughly deserved them.”

Upon the final whistle Alan went to shake Wenger's hand, however Wenger refused the hand-shake. Arsene and Arsenal then continued to show to their “bad-losers” attitude as the Gunners boss refused Pardew's offer of a glass of wine and then the entire Arsenal squad refused to speak to the media.
