Tevez started his first game since October 1st and showed some very positive signs in a much improved performance.
Pardew told Sky Sports, “He has had a couple of knocks, he has come in to a new country, he doesn't speak a word of English, he is 22, never seen a Premier League game and we have had to give him time.
“We gave him an early introduction, where people judged him which was unfair, but he now understands the mileage you need to put in and in intensity you need to put in to play at this level.
“Not only that, he has major ability and he showed all that today for us.
“He played like a West Ham player today, a real fillip for us as a group because we know he has got outstanding talent and I was so pleased with him today.”
